Judge Rules Sherri Shepherd Is the Mother of Baby Born Via Surrogate

Lamar Sally wants her to apologize live on television.

After months of battling her soon to be ex-husband Lamar Sally in court over financial responsibilites of their baby born via surrogate, Sherri Shepherd is now confirmed as the 8-month-old's mother.

TMZ reports that Shepherd, who claimed that Sally tricked her into having the child, failed to show up to the hearing. Her estranged husband, however, is thrilled with his victory and even has a special request for his soon to be ex-wife. "I want her to go on television and apologize the same way that she went on there and accused me of being a gold digger and tricking her into having a baby," he told the site.

Contrary to the former The View co-host's claims, Sally said that they both agreed to pursue surrogacy as a couple. Shepherd allegedly had a sudden change of heart months after the surrorate's pregancy had begun. Craig Bluestein, a legal representative for the baby, stood by Sally's claims, revealing to People that he had obtained evidence showing that both parents were ecstatic in the beginning stages of the pregnancy.

"There was some additional evidence put on the record involving some video clips involving Ms. Shepherd," Bluestein said. The clip he cites shows the actress "expressing excitement over her and Lamar going to have a baby through the help of a surrogate carrier with no genetic connection."

As Shepherd was a no-show at the hearing, her lawyers declined to comment. Sally, however, had some words to share: "I'm glad it's over, but I feel sad what it had to come to. Now I can go back to L.A. and tend to my son."
