WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka Diagnosed With Stomach Cancer

The legendary wrestler recently underwent surgery.

The pro wrestling world just keeps getting hit with bad news.

Four days after Rowdy Roddy Piper died in his sleep Thursday and less than two months after Dusty Rhodes passed away, news broke of fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka being diagnosed with stomach cancer, as reported by TMZ Sports.

Snuka's wife, Carole, told longtime wrestling journalist Bill Apter about her 72-year-old husband recently undergoing surgery to remove part of his stomach and lymph nodes to remove the cancer entirely.

"He still has a long road ahead of him, and the doctor says he's an amazingly strong man," she told Apter, as reported by TMZ. "We all know how strong Jimmy is, and Jimmy can take a beating."

She added: "He also wants to let his fans know that he's not done yet."

Snuka came to prominence in the WWE, then-World Wrestling Federation, during the 1980s, coincidentally for his feud with Piper. He was also known for his legendary, high-flying moves, using a splash from the top ropes as his finisher.
