Breaking: What We Know About The Suspects Arrested In Fatal Shooting of Dwyane Wade's Cousin

Nykea Aldridge, 32, was shot and killed while walking her baby outside.

Two men have been arrested by Chicago police in connection with the death of NBA star Dwyane Wade's cousin Nykea Aldridge who was tragically shot while pushing her infant child on Thursday in the city's south side.

Brothers Darwin Sorrells Jr., 26, and Derren Sorrells, 22 — who were out on parole at the time of the murder — have been charged with first degree murder and first degree attempted murder, police announced on Sunday. Both Darwin and Derren have fairly extensive rap sheets with Derren being a documented member of the Gangster Disciples, and Darwin on parole for a gun charge.

Aldridge was pushing her baby in a stroller when the bullets started flying. One of the bullets hit Aldridge in the head, and another in the arm, she was pronounced dead at the hospital 45 minutes later.

Within the tragedy lies a small miracle, however, as he 3-week-old child was not hurt. Though the fact remains that yet another inner-city child will now have to grow up without a parent because of senseless gun violence. Much of the circumstances behind the shooting are still not known but Aldridge is believed to be an innocent victim caught in the crossfire.

Wade, a Chicago native, recently joined fellow NBA stars to speak out against gun violence and police brutality at this year's ESPYS and took to Twitter to express his sadness and shock over the loss of his young cousin and in the process made an emotional appeal to the entire city of Chicago, which has been ravage by gun violence in recent years.

Family spokesman Pastor Edward Jones told NBC Chicago that Aldridge was just looking for a better life. "She loved God, loved her family,' Jones said. 'Just like everyone else, just wanted a better life, to live a better life. This is tragic because now it struck home with us. Something has to be done. This has got to stop."

This is not the first time one of Wade's relatives has been a victim in a shooting. In 2012, his nephew Darin Johnson was shot twice in the leg

Hopefully Wade decision to play for the Chicago Bulls after signing a 2-year contract this summer will allow him and his family to support Aldrige's family and infant child.

But most are not lucky enough to have an NBA star in the family, and the real problem has to be addressed. So far this month, 70 people have been killed by gun violence in Chicago with 435 gun-related homicides this year.
