Kevin Gates has been making headlines for kicking an 18-year-old fan in the chest during one of his concerts last week. Through footage that surfaced online, Gates kicked her because she grabbed his leg. Since the incident, she has spoken out about the attack and her injuries to ABC News. Now, Gates is using his platform to address what happened.

In “The Truth,” Gates starts the song off by saying he doesn’t want to be disrespected by men or women. He states that the fan allegedly touched him in his private parts and the video that’s going viral edited it out. Gates also says that he brings his children to all his shows and he doesn’t want them to be exposed to that kind of behavior.
