Here's What J. Cole's Doing While Everyone Argues Over Kendrick Lamar

He's got something up his sleeve next.

While the internet is in a frenzy figuring out who exactly Kendrick Lamar is targeting with every shot fired on his new surprise single, "The Heart Part 4," some aren't letting themselves get caught in all the hype.

While J. Cole, much like K. Dot, is held in high regard for minding his own business and letting his spitfire raps do the talking for him, it does make for interesting timing that on the same day Lamar makes headlines with his new track, the Dreamville rapper has decided to unveil an update of his own for his fans.

Today (March 24), J. Cole shared the official trailer for his forthcoming HBO special, which arrives two years after the rapper's first televised documentary special aired in 2015.

Much like the first installment, the next documentary-style installment revolves around his music, following the rapper around multiple locations and balancing a handful of live performances from his 4 Your Eyez Only project with an array of intimate interviews, all documented through Cole's lens.

As reported, the project is executive produced and co-directed by Cole himself and Scott Lazer, with Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad and Adam Roy Rodney also closely involved.

Throughout the documentary film, J. Cole looks to capture people of color sharing their stories, with several confiding in him during the project's official teaser.

The trailer also utilizes Cole's song "Change," one of the ten songs on the rapper's latest project. His album, which arrived with the third largest debut of 2016, right behind Drake's Views and Beyoncé's Lemonade, is the focal point of the new documentary, making for an interesting catalyst to present the bigger picture that inspired the project itself.

Take a look at the trailer in the clip below and be sure to mark your calendars for April 15, with the film set to debut on HBO at 10 p.m..
