Meek Mill Reportedly Arrested In New York City

Sources say he was taken into custody on reckless driving charges.

According to several reports, MMG rap star Meek Mill wheelied his way into legal trouble in New York City, which has unfortunately resulted in an arrest and reckless endangerment charges on Thursday (August 17).

As reported by ABC 7 NY, Meek was pulled over by police officers at around 10 p.m. Sources claim that the night before, he and his biker friends had been riding wild in a residential community, an area where residents insist that off road vehicles have been an issue for some time. After a 911 call was placed, the site adds, Meek and his squad had reportedly already left the scene.

Investigators were allegedly able to catch up with him by way of social media, however, where Meek’s biker boy posts, photos and videos typically live. ABC 7 points out that the video in question included the Dreamchasers star popping wheelies on his ATV without a helmet, which presumably added to the reckless endangerment charge. Though the dirt bike he allegedly rode has not been discovered by police, officers still cuffed him and detained him during the traffic stop. Alleged video footage of Meek’s arrest officials was posted by Fameolous, where an officer is heard asking Meek to step out his car. The video appears to be captured on a phone from someone who was in the car with Meek during the arrest.

An officer can be heard asking Meek to step out of his vehicle and interrogating him on whether or not he was riding the motorcycle yesterday. After the cop reveals that he has filmed evidence of the Wins and Losses emcee on the bike, he proceeds to arrest him. Meek is then heard asking, “for what?” and the officer responds, “for reckless endangerment.”

ABC7 reports that Meek was held overnight because he arrived at the jailing facility too late for his arraignment, which will now be held on Friday (August 18).

Some of the alleged arrest footage is pretty choppy, but see what you can make out of it in the video below.
