Did a Longtime Kanye West Collaborator Take Shots at J.Cole?

He better get his defense ready.

Hip-hop producer Mike Dean, known for his extensive working with Kanye West throughout the rapper's decorated career, is looking for an answer explaining a "pattern in the industry" and is angering J.Cole fans along the way.

Taking to Twitter (naturally), the producer wondered aloud, "Why do artists who are lacking always make a diss song just before the LP comes out?"

Considering J.Cole recently dropped a diss track, a song that had fans speculating who the shots fired were directed towards AND factoring in the coincidence that J.Cole has a studio album slated for a release this Friday, fans were quick to jump at Mike Dean for taking a subliminal shot at the "double-platinum-no-features" rapper.

Many were quick to defend Cole, saying that he "isn't lacking," with others questioning Mike Dean for wanting to pick a fight with such an acclaimed rapper days before his album comes out.

After his Twitter mentions lit up, as exemplified in the tweets above, Mike Dean later took to Twitter once more to clarify that he wasn't taking shots at anyone and that he was simply observing an industry trend. Yeah, sure.

Take a look at Mike Dean further explaining his recent controversial commentary in the tweets below.
